A local gun suppression manufacturer hired Industrial Automation Solution to upgrade their existing automated robotic painting system and sandblast system. The old system comprised of an articulated arm robot, a couple of smart motors, one for the up and down movements of the paint gun and another smart motor for the part rotation. There was a PC running Visual Basic for the user interface and writing strings to the robot for control. Industrial Automation Solution replaced the existing automated robotic painting system with a new Mitsubishi RV type 6 axis robot along with 2 servo motors and controllers to control the part rotation and up and down movement of paint gun. We also installed an FX5U PLC and a GT2510 HMI for the user interface. All of the components are connected together using CC-Link IE field basic as the Ethernet communications protocol.
